On debinging
I just bought Swamp Thing at the comic book store. All six volumes in one fell swoop. I'd heard of it, or more accurately, heard of the author (Alan Moore), but never read it. And now it awaits, neat and gleaming on the bookshelf. All six volumes.
Which is a problem.
Because I binge. I've always been a binge reader. Now that TV is available on demand, I've found I'm a binge watcher too. And that's a bigger problem. I can read a book in a couple of hours, but watching a season of a show takes hours more. Binge-watching a show that was on the air for nine years? Farewell, my weekends and weekdays and everything else.
So, I'm trying to debinge. I'll be reading Swamp Thing at a slow pace and commenting as I go. A really slow pace, like one or two or maybe four pages at a time. I'll actually look at the pictures instead of just reading the words. I expect to see a lot more.
