We're ok
More of the paired mirror headers at the top of the page. Beer bottles this time, dripping their liquid down into the panels. The brand is Mighty Moose, (who's saying "Knock yourself out!") and the bottle displays the information "Since 1887, bottled by T. Bertone Co." and it's rated XXX.
The first dialogue is in a yellow box with black then white border - more of TST's words (though he's not on these pages), continuing the monologue from the page before about the world getting smaller. "Or maybe ... They're [the monsters] just getting harder to recognize."
The army people chat with the owner of the motel, who's happy to help once he hears it's a matter of "national security." The uniforms start unloading enormous searchlight, driving out the darkness.
While "elsewhere" (nondescript room with chair), a young couple Matt and Abby (the Cables?) try to convince each other "it's ok" and they're "ok." Scene starts with him in the chair and her in the doorway, then a close-up of each face, and then somehow now she's in the chair and he's standing next to it. Next panel is all slanted, off-kilter, an exterior shot of a pink cabin and blue trees. The two panels after tht are also tilted. Somebody's not seeing things right.
Abby says Alex (aka TST) told her Matt was causing the "monsters and horrors and things." He agrees.
Psychic projection? Dream world? He says he's beaten them back (illustration shows creepy hand things with eyes that look like the ones from Pan's Labyrinth, and more yellow liquid dripping down) and that he's rid himself of "this ability ... this nightmare." So now "we're okay". Except she's crying and they're not near each other and so they're probably not okay.
