To the moon
Elsewhere...
Back with TST, made his way "to the moon" (probably the name of the single-story motel) and is waiting for Dennis and Liz. No sign of them yet, but he's in no hurry. He has nowhere else to go. As he waits in the woods, he thinks of Arcane, who perhaps was right to die. TST is looking for the shadows, older times, before the world had "run out of room ... for monsters..." His world is getting smaller, too.
In the last panel, an army truck pulls up in front of the motel. The general's people are closing in.
LAYOUT
The panel layout is 3 rows, top and bottom row span the whole of the page. The middle row has four tall narrow panels,so that the page looks like columns in a building. The colors are mostly green and purple and black, muted, shadowy. TST's eyes are red.
Yellow glows on the first panel, lighting up TST's back and head. His thought bubbles are yellow, as before. A yellow bird flies low to the ground in front of him, as he stands in black silhouette between two trees. The motel has a yellow circle with a winking smiley face with a nightcap on. Perhaps it represents the man in the moon getting forty winks at this charming establishment, but it looks like Boss Smiley to me.
