"Elsewhere" is an office, where one man (Dwight) stands staring at a large globe topped by an eagle, while another man (the General) sits behind a red desk, smoking a cigarette in a holder. (I've only ever seen women use those in movies from decades ago.) The general holds a picture of TST, and papers or pictures are scattered on his desk, along with a Newton's Cradle toy with seven balls, and a nameplate whose last letters look like "...ARD".
On to the story: It's a two-page spread, where we're supposed to read all the way across both pages on the first row and then read all the way across the second row of panels. Except I don't realize that and read the left page and then the right page and think, "that didn't work."
Eight faces, ghost-like, surround TST as he pushes apart the stone pillars of a doorway and sets them all teetering, like blinded Sampson bringing down a temple. TST uses his fists, but vines entwine each pillar, and he is a GreenMan; those vines are his. The red eyes are hidden/closed/blinded. Blind strength?
The ghost faces are distinct, and I suppose we'll be meeting them.

So... judging the book by its cover, would I have picked this up off the rack to read? Probably not. Too "monster cliché". No author's name. And yet... the monster's facial expression (rare for monster's to have faces or expressions) inspires sympathy.
